Strickland Art Resources was founded by Barbour Strickland to serve the needs of private collectors and institutions in managing and caring for their collections.
Barbour is a graduate of Woodberry Forest School and Vanderbilt University and has been in the art business for over 25 years.
He was the director of the Greenville Museum of Art in Greenville, N.C. for 14 years, until his retirement in 2006.
In 2010 he was reappointed by N.C. Governor Beverly Perdue to a second term on the North Carolina State Art Society Board of the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh. He currently serves as vice-president of the board.
He is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers.
He is the author of The Art Owner's Handbook and The Art Emergency Guide.
